Money Is Power!!

What is your opinion about "Money is Power"?

Do you really consider money as a powerful tool to earn respect and prestige among people?

If I have to speak about the authenticity of this statement, I will go in favor of it because money do give a lot of power to ordinary people. People belong to different races try to earn money by fair or foul means. Earning money by taking bribery only brings destruction for the person because it is forbidden. We have to earn money by fair means because it will prosper us not only in this world but in the world hereafter.

I personally earn money only by fair means because it is the best way to live. Money is power but that does not mean that you start earning it by false means.


All the powerful personalities which by passed in this world start their life from a very pathetic condition. But when they apply knowledge and wisdom, they gain power as well as begin building wealth.

So, if you wish to gain power, you have to apply wisdom to it and start your money by your intelligence.

Money Is Honey

If yes, then you have to work out on my strategy of saving money. I firmly believe that money is necessary for a successful living. We need to have enough money to buy or pay for something not in our range. We need money in order to afford our life. But is earning money really as easy as it looks. I will say that there is no short cut to earn money. You have to strive hard in order to be prosperous.

Why people used to say that money is honey??

The ultimate reason is this because of money you get all the comforts of life which cannot be achieved without it. So, my point of view is this that if you start saving even a pence from now, it will convert to dollars in future and you will happily think that your money saving habit save you from borrowing money from others.

I think you will also believe my point and will definitely save money for yourself in future because MONEY IS HONEY!!

Tricky Money Matters


Money matters can be a tricky issue at the workplace. Who picks up the check when you go out for lunch? What do you do if a colleague asks to borrow a significant sum? I want to know how you handle these sticky situations.
It can be something as simple as splitting any bill equally, but things can get complicated if a boss or anyone at a significantly higher pay grade is part of the equation. There's also the matter of figuring out how to answer if a colleague asks you about your salary.
So when it comes to money matters in the office, what's your advice for the best way to tackle an awkward situation?

Nine Financial Reasons To Turn Off Your Television – And Ten Things To Replace It With



I believe that it won’t be too long before we turn the television off for good.

Nine Financial Reasons To Turn Off Your Television:

Why? It’s too expensive.
Here are the reasons why.

Cable / satellite bills Our cable bill used to cost us roughly $60 a month. That adds up to $720 a year spent just to get more programming. Three years worth of that and we’re looking at a very nice vacation. Five or six years of that, put into a savings account, potentially replaces a car.

Electricity We had two televisions, and they would each be on an average of four hours a day. Given a cost of $0.10 per kilowatt hour, and the fact that the smaller television used about 100 watts and the larger one used about 160 watts, that meant we were using a bit over a kilowatt hour each day. There’s another $40 a year that vanished.

Guilt Television programs often create a glamorous image of a life that is far outside the financial capabilities of most people watching. When viewers watch such programs then reflect on their lives, it creates a set of negative feelings. For me, the most prevalent feeling was guilt – I can’t give my family this stuff, I would think. Thus, my sense of self-worth would go down. This would put me in a mindset to be more susceptible to the ….

Commercials Those wonderful short little programs that are designed to sell you stuff, period. Even better: they often work in concert with the programs to create a sense of guilt – and they offer a psychological way out. One commercial isn’t powerful, but when you’re inundated with them… very powerful.

Less time for other opportunities If the television is on for four hours a day, that’s four hours where I could be doing something more constructive with my time, like starting a successful blog (*ahem*) or starting a business or working on a novel or getting household chores done and so forth.

Stress When we spend a lot of time watching television, we put off other things that we should be doing, like paying bills, playing with the kids, and so on. After a while, these things build up and we begin to feel stress in our lives that wouldn’t be there if we didn’t spend so much time watching television. Over time, elevated stress leads to health issues.

Poorer dining habits Instead of spending time preparing a healthy, inexpensive meal from scratch, we would hurry up and eat an more expensive prepackaged meal (or takeout) so that we could catch certain television programs. These costs added up, not only on our wallets, but also around our waists.

 Poor health / obesity Television is almost always a sedentary activity. Over time, it begins to show. Television is the big reason for the “obesity epidemic,” because Americans simply don’t get the natural exercise from doing non-sedentary activities that they once got. The health costs from this can be tremendous.

Less communication When the television is on for hours each day, it’s much more difficult to have real conversations with the people in your life. Over time, less communication means weaker relationships with the people you love, and this means that quite often you have to “supplement” the relationship with additional spending.

Ten Things To Replace Television With:
If you take a one week challenge to turn off the television, several things will happen, chief among them boredom and a sense of having a ton of “empty” time. Here are ten things to do to fill that time.

Start an exercise plan. If you didn’t watch Mad Money every night at six o’clock, you might be able to spend that hour walking around the block, doing leg lifts, or doing an aerobic workout. Most exercise routines cost nothing, though it can be more fun if you do something like a DDR exercise regimen (something I’d love to write about, but I can’t really conceive of how it fits on The Simple Dollar).

Prepare meals. Learn how to cook at home. Prepare some interesting meals. Get a good cookbook and dig in.

Read a book you’ve always wanted to read. Something like Anna Karenina or The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt (both were the “book I always wanted to read” for me at various times). Read something to educate your mind and your spirit.

Start a second business. I keep this blog running on less time than I used to spend watching television each night and it is earning some money. I also started a computer consulting business, where I fix people’s computers locally. This has opened up two solid revenue streams for me that, added together, approximate what I made from my job before. This has made me feel much less stressed about work – I do my job, but it no longer has the paralyzing “Oh my God what if they downsize?” fear that it used to have.

Be social. Have healthy, focused conversations with your immediate family. Patch up bruised relationships and friendships. Go out to community events and meet people. Find a group connected to the things you’re interested in and get involved (like a book club).

Take an evening class. Most universities offer degree programs towards a master’s degree (or higher) in the evenings. See what’s available and get into such a program. It will fill your evenings with food for thought and put you on a much stronger career path.

Learn a new skill or a new hobby. When my great grandfather died, my great grandmother spent her evenings learning how to paint, something she’d always wanted to learn how to do. She had a ton of natural skill, and as she learned the craft, it began to show. It was something that her married life and television watching had never left time for before.

Take on a major project. Do something huge that you’ve always wanted to do. I’ve done things like made a homemade bullwhip, learned how to speak Mandarin, and so on, just in my newfound spare time.

Get things done. When I finally turned off the television and looked around, I saw literally hundreds of little things that needed to be done that I simply hadn’t done. So I started getting them done; I literally spent three days making a giant checklist of every task that would take longer than five minutes, then I just started going through them. I felt so productive while doing this that it was a huge endorphin rush just by itself.

Take care of whatever bothers you. For me, it was taking a little bit of time each day to meditate and get in touch with my spiritual side, and it made a huge difference in my life. In short, by cutting out television, you can not only directly save money, but live a much more rich and fulfilling life.

What’s the best way to use the cards? Use the 1x card travel and dining. Use the 2x card for any purchases. Redeeming miles for travel is a good practice to get into because you get 10% of them back. I wouldn’t recommend pairing these cards with any other travel credit card unless you consistently fly one of the airlines that offers a card with rewards of 3x miles or higher. It may pair nicely with the Discover it®, which isn’t as widely accepted as MasterCard. One strategy would be to hit the quarterly $1,500 cap on earning 5% cash back with your Discover it®, and then put other purchases on the Barclaycard.

Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card
The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card is one of the most popular cards around. It’s a very close competitor to both of the cards mentioned above.

Card Highlights:

Who’s it good for? Anyone who wants to consistently earn rewards on all purchases, and travelers. People who make a variety of purchases. Loyal Capital One customers.

What’s the best way to use it? You should use this card for everything you buy. If you have a cash back or airlines card where you can hit rewards of 3% or higher, you’ll want to combo the two cards. This card will function perfectly on its own without owning any other credit card. Other Popular Rewards Credit Cards The competition was tough in this group. The cards below didn’t make the top three, but don’t beat yourself up if you own one of them. These are still some of the better credit cards available, but they’re not quite as good as the ones mentioned above.
Capital One® VentureOne® Rewards Credit Card Card Highlights:

Why it didn’t make the cut.?
You only earn 1.25 points per dollar on every purchase, which is is 0.75 less than the best cards. The sign-up bonus is just average at 20,000 bonus points. U.S. Bank Flex Perks® Travel Rewards Visa Signature® card Card Highlights: Why it didn’t make the cut The sign-up bonus is half as much as some of the top rewards cards and you have to spend much more to achieve it. Earning two Flex Points for every $1 spent on gas, grocery, or airlines is on par with the other top cards. You don’t earn 2:1 rewards points on everything, but these are big enough categories to capitalize on unless you eat out a lot.

Super Money Saving Tips


 Yesterday, I discussed how anyone can turn their financial life around if they just take that first step – the first step is always the hardest one. After that, you start taking more and more little steps and before you know it, your financial life is getting better and better.
What follows is a list of 100 more steps to take. Each of these tactics are simple little moves you can make to improve your financial situation. Some of them take just a few minutes, others might take an hour or two, some of them require a bit of regular effort, but they’re all incredibly simple – anyone can do them. Each of them also save significant money, especially over the long haul, and when combined together these tips can save you a lot of money now.
Obviously, not all of these tips will apply to everyone. Just go through the list and use them in your life – you’ll quickly find yourself saving some serious scratch.

1. Switch your bank accounts to a bank that respects you.
 You shouldn’t be spending your hard-earned money on maintenance fees – you also should be earning some serious interest on your checking and savings accounts. I use ING Direct (now owned by Capital One) as my primary bank – I earn roughly 3% on my checking account and 3.4% on my savings account and they’ve never dinged me with a fee.
 
2. Turn off the television. One big way to save money is to watch less television. There are a lot of financial benefits to this: less exposure to guilt-inducing ads, more time to focus on other things in life, less electrical use, and so on. It’s great to unwind in the evening, but seek another hobby to do that.
 
 3. Turn a critical eye to your “collections.”
Most people collect something – what do you collect? Is it something that consistently brings you joy? Or is it something that you just do out of habit at this point? Does the collection itself have value? Could you perhaps “trim the fat” from this collection by getting rid of duplicates or getting rid of the items you no longer use? Also, could you perhaps cut down on your spending on that hobby? Focus on trimming the things you don’t feel strongly about – if you dig into things that bother you, you’re going to eventually relapse.
 
4. Sign up for every free customer rewards program you can.
Even if you rarely shop at that place, having a rewards card for that place will eventually net you some coupons and discounts. Here’s the basic game plan for maximizing these programs: create a Gmail address just for these mailings, collect every card you can, and then check that account for extra coupons whenever you’re ready to shop. 5. Make your own gifts instead of buying stuff from the store.
You can make food mixes, candles, bread, cookies, soap, and all kinds of other things at home quite easily and inexpensively. These make spectacular gifts for others because they involve your homemade touch, plus quite often they’re consumable, meaning they don’t wind up filling someone’s closet with junk. Even better – include a personal handwritten note with the gift. This will make it even more special than anything you could possibly buy down at the mall, plus it saves you money.
